Qualification as a Specialist for Collegial Consultation/Intervision

Leaders in daycare centers and family centers face diverse challenges today. Staff shortages, increasing demands in everyday work, and complex pedagogical issues require not only professional competence but also the ability to professionally reflect on difficult situations and collaboratively develop viable solutions.

Against this backdrop, the Oberberg Education Network has developed the qualification program “Specialist for Collegial Consultation/Intervision”. It was implemented as part of the initiative “Round Table – Skilled Workforce Needs in Social and Educational Professions” and is aimed at leaders of daycare centers and family centers in the Oberberg district.

The goal of the qualification is to empower participants to view the challenges of leadership with professional distance and to enhance their confidence in decision-making. At the same time, they acquire the skills to introduce and sustainably establish the format of collegial consultation in their institutions. This creates a structured form of professional exchange that strengthens resources, promotes teamwork, and contributes to quality assurance in the institutions.

The pilot phase started in March 2026 at two locations in the Oberberg district with a total of 20 leaders. In regularly held supervision and training sessions, participants, under professional guidance, intensively engage with the methods and practical implementation of collegial consultation. Upon successful completion of the qualification, they receive a certificate as a Specialist for Collegial Consultation/Intervision.

The program is financially supported by the Kreissparkasse Köln Education Foundation and makes an important contribution to strengthening leadership competence, team culture, and quality in daycare centers in the Oberberg district.
