Steering committees

The Education Conference provides guidance for the work of the Education Office in the Education Network.

The Education Conference generally meets once a year and serves as a platform for exchange, knowledge transfer, participation, and development. Under the cooperation agreement between the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Oberberg District, responsible parties from the region come together for the Education Conference, including representatives from municipalities, schools, school boards, school supervision, politics, and thematically related regional institutions and organizations with their expertise, such as the Employment Agency, representatives of the Chamber of Crafts and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the adult education center, municipal integration centers, local religious communities, as well as representatives from the culture and sports sectors, kindergartens, parent-teacher associations, students, businesses, and others to collectively further develop the Oberberg education region. Agreements and recommendations on various topics and fields of action are developed to meet the needs of the Oberberg Education Network.

In the education team, representatives from municipalities, the state of NRW, schools, the student council, and the Oberberg district work collaboratively to prepare and coordinate agreements and decisions of strategic importance for the Oberberg education region.

Quality standards, target agreements, work plans in the fields of action of the education office, and concrete implementation orders are established here. All decisions are made by consensus and formally documented.

Guests may be invited to provide advisory support based on their expertise, depending on the occasion and topic.

All education team meetings are prepared, followed up, and accompanied by the education office.

Our education team is composed as follows:

• three representatives of the district-affiliated cities and municipalities (currently the city of Bergneustadt, the municipalities of Lindlar and Nümbrecht)

• one representative of the Higher School Supervision (District Government Cologne, Regional Coordinator for the Oberberg Education Network)

• one representative of the Lower School Supervision (School Office for the Oberberg District, Regional Coordinator for the Oberberg Education Network)

• three representatives of school management (currently Lindlar-Kapellensüng Primary School, Bergneustadt Secondary School, and Waldbröl Comprehensive School)

• two representatives of the Oberberg District Student Council

• three representatives of the Oberberg District (Head of the Department of Education and Schools, Head of the Youth Welfare Office, Head of Economic Development)

• Head of the Education Office

The education team meetings usually take place four times a year and are not open to the public. Meeting dates are announced in the calendar for informational purposes.
