zdi-MINT-BSO-Measures

With the zdi-BSO-MINTplus funding program, students at general education schools have the opportunity to gain practical insights into MINT professions and degree programs. The focus is on hands-on workshops and projects that combine technical, scientific, and digital content with authentic insights into training, studies, and careers. The program is aimed at students from grade 8 onwards and is a central component of in-depth career and study orientation in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The zdi-Center investMINT Oberberg, together with universities, companies, vocational colleges, and other educational partners, offers a wide range of courses. The measures range from compact workshops lasting four hours to multi-day projects lasting up to four school days.

The topics are oriented towards current developments in science, technology, and business and are continuously developed further. The offerings include, among others:

• Robotics, programming, and digitalization

• Electronics, soldering, and microcontrollers

• CNC manufacturing as well as wood and metalworking

• Advertising technology and media design

• Plastics technology and modern manufacturing processes

• Molecular biology and laboratory work

• Renewable energy and solar technology

• Automation and identification technology (e.g., RFID, NFC, and barcode)

• Media literacy and safe use of digital devices

• University and research laboratories as well as mobile MINT offerings

All measures combine practical work with insights into training and study opportunities and are conducted by experienced educational partners.
